Gallery: Surrey vs Middlesex — 17.06.2022

For our latest photo series, we go all the way to the boundary’s edge to capture an evening full of cricket and fan fare at one of England’s finest sporting venues - The Kia Oval.

In front of a sweltering sell-out crowd on a Friday night, Surrey men hosted London rivals Middlesex to battle it out over the course of 40 overs in the Vitality Blast. Whilst 25,000 spectators settled into their seats in 32 degree heat, the away team kicked off proceedings by batting first, sending some early sixes into the crowd and setting the hosts a target of 156 runs.

Whilst the temperature was still flirting in the high 20s, Surrey went at 10s from the very first over, with Will Jacks and Ollie Pope knocking off the runs consistently, before setting the stage for T20-specialist Sunil Narine to come to the crease and send us all home early for the weekend - casually firing off 51* from 29. Fair to say no eyebrows were raised when when he was awarded the MOTM bubbly.

So another W for Surrey in this seasons Vitality Blast that stretched their unbeaten run this season to 9 matches. Some form as they eye up Finals Day on Saturday 16th July.
