The influence cricket has on its worldwide audience, and in particular fashion, is widely underestimated. A sport that is worshiped by hundreds of millions, where the players are idolised and their fans are beginning to obsess over them off the wicket as much as when they're on it. Especially now the new generation coming through offer more than just a fast pair of hands or exceptional hand-eye coordination. They're entertainers within their own right, socially aware in the modern age and building a loyal following.
So its exciting to see a brand like OIC striving to think outside the norm and 'influence' the market with their own prep sport & luxury vision.
The brand was founded in November 2006 by an American fashion designer, Osrick Pilgrim, to give his clients an array of luxury products that keeps cricket running through the threads. A sport close to his heart after regularly travelling with his grandfather from island to island, just to get their fix of the beautiful game.
Despite cricket being seen as a bit of a mystery in the US, the brand have successfully merged the two world's of fashion and cricket together, educating the American audience whilst appealing to the markets across the world.
Not settled on trying to forge the future of cricket fashion, OIC are also dedicated to helping those less fortunate with the launch ofPreppy, the Cricket Kangaroo and his special edition of t-shirt's and caps where proceeds go to Tomaro's CHANGE, a non-profit organization that provides basic necessities to parents with infant/toddlers, globally.
